Dear Reader,

Seeing as this is my first post, I thought it would be useful if I told you a little about myself.

My name is Daniel Dutton and I am a thirty-something freelance website designer/developer/marketer based in the UK. I'm also employed as an IT Consultant, but was made redundant at the beginning of the year and will be leaving my post at the end of February.

Forunately, my freelancing work has got a lot busier of late, so my redundancy is an ideal opportunity for me to expand and break free of the shackles of employment.

I'm in the process of starting up my own website design business, which I've called Shore Dutton (derived on my wife's maiden name and my surname), which is turning out to be a lot of hard work - but a lot of fun as well. I also own GESWEB, which is an Internet business that creates any ideas I have for useful and profitable website projects as well as a base for me to conduct experiments. Some of the products from this "Ideas Machine" are Nunoogle
- Nuneaton's Local Search Engine and The Honey Badger Lens.

As well as having a passion for Iternet-related stuff, I also enjoy reading about theoretical physics, such as quantum theory, relativity and cosmology. I guess I like to understand how things work - not that I understand all these complicated physical theories yet! I also enjoy juggling to relax as well as spending time with my wife, three kids, family and friends.

I intend to use this blog to discuss website design and development topics, give solutions to some of the problems I encounter and chat about anything else that takes my fancy.

Well, that's my brief inroduction over. I look forward to conversing with you, dear reader, as my little corner of the Internet develops.

Until next time,

Daniel
